NEIL PATEL

Neil is a General Consultant here at Effecta and brings over 10 years of legal and regulatory risk experience within the financial services sector. Prior to joining Effecta Neil worked in-house as a Compliance Analyst, sitting within the team which supported the operation of an investment platform within the regulatory parameters.

Neil’s previous role entailed him carrying out detailed Compliance Monitoring Reviews and conducting Thematic Reviews and internal ‘deep dives’. Alongside this, Neil assisted in horizon scanning and communicating and embedding any identified regulatory changes into the operational processes of the Firm. As part of Neil’s expertise he was also a main point of contact for Client Asset Source Book (CASS) related issues.

In addition to Neil’s time working in-house, he has over 5 years’ experience with a Big Four consultancy Firm leading various risk and advisory projects. The contracts Neil was involved in were mainly remediation projects for a variety of different clients, such as pension firms, legal firms, and insurance firms. Within these projects Neil was involved in developing performance management frameworks for accreditation principles and implementing metrics demonstrating business priorities. He has also developed quality and control model frameworks to facilitate the day-to-day management of Quality Assurance and Risk. Neil has been involved in carrying out audits for business activities from an end-to-end process.

The exposure Neil has gained throughout his experiences within the financial services industry provides a useful and valuable oversight for clients on best practices for businesses.
